Omg?! What's this? A pokémon? You bet it is, haha. Taking a break from the 15th anniversary Sonic picture, I drew this. I hope you can wait a little more time for Sonic art (which, I know, is what you are here for).
I never thought I'd ever draw a pokémon any time soon... and be satisfied with it on top of all. Last time I drew any was in 5th or 6th grade. The one I tried the most to draw was a Charmeleon (Rizaado), my favourite at that time (and it still is), and random Pikachus. You can bet I wasn't pleased with any of them. And weirdly, I lost all motivation in drawing these little critters... as well as the whole pokémon phenomenon like everyone. But I still liked them. I didn't develop a hatred or tried to shy away from them like some people did (I'll buy that next game at the counter, in fact).
So anyway, how did I get into this again? Let's say some weird events (which will bore if I talked about it) got me into looking for information about this pokémon. Intrigued about his popularity in Japanese BBSes and about the fact that the 8th movie (eh? 8 movies?!) he stars into, Myuu to Hadou no Yuusha Rukario, was ranked second place in theathers for a while when it was presented, I decided to take a look at the latter. And yeah, viewwing it, you can bet I enjoyed the movie. So much that I decided to enter the fandom again (although not as much as before). It also made me a fan of this 4th generation pokémon, Lucario. He has such a cool personality and character development XP. It's just dissapointing that the movie has the kid's adaptation bat; I can see scenes they have cut or refrained to draw.... it could have been so much dramatic~! XP But yeah... we must not traumatize our children.
... and I noticed I just ramble too much so I'll stop. Getting carried away too much, haha. But if you get the chance to look at the movie (maybe preferably subbed, since his voice is perfect in Japanese and I guess the others too X3), I highly suggest that you do if you don't find pokémon too "kiddy", like they say.
This is Lucario or Rukario (ルカリオ ), a 4th generation pokémon set to appear in the upcoming Diamond/Pearl version for Nintendo DS. Apparently, he's a Fighter/Steel type, unique this kind of combination (I didn't play past red and blue in depth). I assume he's a legendary pokémon since he can talk and all. His trademark attack is what I call Hadou no Tama or Wave ball though I may be completly wrong. ...And I've overexagerated his attack of course X3.
I know I'm very late in joining the fandom of this character (Like... one year, ahha). His for Smash Bros. Brawl/SumaBuraX = very yes for me (And let's not forget Sonic X3) And with that, I'll leave with what I think is his most famous quote: 波動はわれにあり Hadou wa ware ni ari
Minor Edit: Adjusted colours and more believeable wind lighting

Je pensais au début que c'était un personnage de Klonoa; it shows how much I know about the two series hahah.
XP
Rucario is simply beautiful, and the movie was REALLY good. Then again, all Pokémon movies are great. :/ At least, I think so.
You did an AMAZING job on him though, perfectly executed. Look like it came straight out of the movie, just wow. The shading's amazing... looks like fur! I'm definately going to fave this, keep up the fantastic work. ;o; You're making me want to draw him now, ahaha~ <3

En tout cas, en résumé, très beau travail.
